Professional 2-Year Actor Training
The Conservatory Program
The Conservatory Program, the professional actor training program of PAC, is a two-year curriculum of study. The first year of the program consists solely of classroom work, where students are exposed to various acting techniques and styles, as well as concentrated studies in voice, movement, scene study, improvisation, Shakespeare, theatre history, theatre appreciation, and script analysis. Second-year students also attend special workshops in dialects, directing, stage management, audition techniques, and the practical business aspects of professional acting. In the second year, in addition to their classroom studies, students are cast in three fully-staged productions known as The Conservatory Season.
The Conservatory Season
| Students accepted into the second year of the Conservatory Program are cast in three fully-staged productions. These shows, directed by professionals and featuring some of the Northwest's finest professional actors as guest artists, provide the opportunity for the students to learn from working actors, directors and designers while developing a deeper understanding of their craft through rehearsal and performance. Each student is guaranteed at least two substantial roles in the season. All students will perform at least one job of a technical nature per year. In addition, PAC presents a Graduation Showcase each season which features the graduating class performing monologues for an invited audience of theatre and film professionals, as well as our patrons. The Conservatory Season runs from February through July. |
