Summer On Stage: Putting the Fun in Fundamental

Whether you’re brand new to acting or an accomplished young thespian between the ages of eight and 18, Portland Actors Conservatory has a summer camp that will challenge and inspire you. Choose from upper level, week-long intensives in Audition Technique or Musical Theater, or our traditional Summer on Stage 2 ½ week sessions culminating in performance for daylong participants. Whatever your choice, you’ll get hands-on training from accomplished professionals culminating in a final presentation before an audience. Each experience provides an in-depth exploration of the fun and fundamentals of acting, and no audition is required.

	Acting Audition Intensive Planning to pursue performance? You’ll need to develop excellent audition skills to get the role. This course is designed to build a powerful audition presence while giving students the tools necessary to compete for roles at school, in the community or in a professional setting. You’ll develop audition monologues and learn how to make strong cold reading choices for theatre or film auditions. The class will culminate in a showcase of student work. June 21-25, 10am to 4pm
	Musical Theatre Bootcamp The Musical Theatre Bootcamp focuses on vocal production, phrasing, rhythm and interpretation. You’ll learn how to use your whole body as an instrument in singing performance, as well as how to work with live accompaniment. The class culminates in a presentation of solo and ensemble numbers from the Musical Theater canon. June 28-July 2, 10am to 4pm
	Summer on Stage Spend the morning delving deeply into training in voice, movement, scene study, character development, and improvisation. Afternoons concentrate on acting techniques and the rehearsal process. Sign up for full day sessions to participate in a final, fully staged performance on the last day of each session. Choose from one of the sessions below:
	July 7-23, 9:30am to 4pm July 28-August 13, 9:30am to 4pm. Please specify full day or morning only. *PLEASE NOTE*: Morning only students do not participate in performances, or the last two days of camp due to performance schedule. Morning only students camp schedules are July 7-21 and July 28-Aug.11.
